Nail Lavish Review and Affordable Dim Sum at Upper Thomson!

Sponsored Post

Every girl loves pretty nails and I am no exception. However, I am usually too lazy to apply nail polish and I must admit that my skills in this area are quite lousy. Also, given that my business nature is quite hands on, I find that nail polish tend to chip off rather quickly and easily, which again is not helpful as I am too lazy to do any re-application. Hence, although the idea of having pretty nail colors or designs is appealing, I am not a great fan of executing the task myself. Therefore, I was really happy when a local nail salon, Nail Lavish, invited me to try out their nail services!

My first impression when I entered Nail Lavish was that it is a really cosy place with lots of privacy. For ladies who want some personal space after a hard day at work, this salon is a good place to unwind while doing your nails. If you are looking for a place to do your hair as well, Nail Lavish will be a good nail boutique to visit as it is adjoined with a hair salon.

Although we rely on our feet a lot, I believe many of us rarely take really good care of them. So do pamper yourself with a Spa Pedicure if possible!

The end result! Relaxed feet and two layers of evenly coated red nail polish for my toes

The start to my Gelish Manicure session

As I have chosen ombre style nail colors for my manicure session, the manicurist had to apply the three different colors one step at a time. There was actually a fifth step in which a layer of glitter polish was applied over the ombre shades at the end. In contrast to the normal manicure session, the gelish manicure which I was given required me to put my hands into a special machine with UV/LED lamp to dry the nail colors.

And the end results:

Loving the ombre shades!
The amazing thing about gelish manicure is that the colors can last up to 3 weeks without chipping or fading! This is really fantastic news for all girls who are as concerned as me about nail colors chipping too quickly :). From what I found out after some research, it seems that gelish nail polish is healthier and less damaging for our nails than normal nail polish! The only down side is that the cost is higher but for the benefits it offered, the "investment" may still be worthy :).

Here is the good news - Nail Lavish is giving a 10% discount for all the services it provides for first time customers with the presentation of its discount voucher. From this week onward, this discount voucher will be sent to all customers together with their Lace And Buttons' purchases. Till stocks last only!

For added information, there are many eateries around the area, including the themed restaurant, Old School Delight, which I introduced earlier. This time round after my nail sessions at Nail Lavish, we had our lunch at a Dim Sum eatery just a stone throw away from the salon:

A variety of dim sum to choose from!
Mooncake is also available for sale at this eatery
Our delicious lunch!
The Hua Nam Restaurant is a traditional looking eatery serving a good range of quality dim sum at affordable prices. The filling in each dim sum dish is very generous and tasty, with most of the dishes costing $2.20 each. Pretty reasonable price in my opinion considering the portion and taste of the dim sum :).

And if you are looking for a sweet treat after lunch, fret not! There are a number of places selling desserts within close proximity. We decided to satisfy our cravings with ice-creams from Salted Caramel:

The ice-cream is good but I love the crispy waffle cone even more! Not too heavy and sweet, yummy!
This place (i.e. Upper Thomson Road) is a eating paradise and there are still many places to explore. So if you are looking for a relaxing day out, how about pampering your nails at Nail Lavish followed by a fantastic lunch/dinner nearby?
