Redesigning Denim Jeans - A Competiition for Young Aspiring Local Designers

I have never been a huge fan of jeans but I was wowed away by the creativity of our young local designers who compete for top honors at the "Fashion Upclose - A Style Recreation Competition". Participants were tasked to recreate the look of the assigned pair of dENiZEN™ jeans based on their interpretation of the theme "Fashion Upclose". The finalists of the competition get the opportunity to present their design to the panel of judges on the runway, where the top three winners were announced.

The runway was held at Suntec City Tropics Atrium and attracted a large group of spectators and photographers. Here are some of the designs by our local talents:

Most of these creative designs are achieved through methods such as tie-dye, spray painting, patchwork and embellishments etc.

And the winners are:

Second Runner-up
Unique details include funky prints and attached wire suspenders
First Runner-Up
From skinny jeans to  a style resembling harem pants -what more can  I say about the uniqueness of this piece?

And finally, the grand winner is:

First Prize!
Asymmetrical  tie-dye prints and white piping - Simply gorgeous! Trendy but wearable.
