In Love With Hats Part II - Sunshine Vibes!

In my last post I mentioned that I have recently fallen in love with hats. The reason is simple really - they are excellent for styling and can instantly transform your everyday basic look to one that is more trendy and interesting. I particularly like the idea of matching a pretty sun hat with a cheery yellow dress as I believe the look will be one that is full of vibrancy and energy, much like the morning sun. So here comes my mix and match inspiration for the day:

This look is definitely suitable for ladies who like a sweet and feminine style! I like how the dainty eyelet details and flowy chiffon skirt of the dress complement the romantic floral scarf design on the hat to create that charmingly girl-next-door look.

In Love With Hats Part I - Nostalgic Charm

I admit this is not my usual fashion style.

I have this bright candy pink skirt lying in my wardrobe for the longest time and I really want to give it a chance to (hopefully) shine. Also, I have recently fallen in love with hats and decided that my floral scarf sun hat should go quite well with the look I had in mind. And so here comes my latest mix and match inspiration:

A basic mono-color white/black top should match easily with the skirt but I decided to go for a more colorful long sleeve top just to try out a new style and be more adventurous. I am quite pleased with how the look turns out as I think it exudes a kind of English Victorian Vintage style which possesses a nostalgic charm. For those who find a pink skirt too "girlish" or bold, the pretty top goes well with denim blue or white bottoms too.

Lace Prints, Silver And Snowflakes - Be Angelic And Glam This Christmas!

If you love the "Girl Next Door" style, yet looking for a glamorous look for this Christmas, the following styling recommendation is definitely for you!

The above look screams sweet and feminine thanks to the gorgeous and distinctive lattice lace prints on the flattering skater cut dress as well as the super romantic and pretty snowflake embellishments on the accessories. In case you are curious, I have chosen snowflake designs for the hairband and bracelet for this particular Mix and Match because they are representative of the Christmas Season! Although we do not experience winter in Singapore, it doesn't mean that we can't include the beauty of wintry elements into our style!

I also like that this combination possesses that extra "oomps" factor brought out by the dazzle/shine of the main color theme (i.e Silver)! Definitely a great look for the romantic at hearts and perfect for semi-formal to formal Christmas events and weddings.

Classy Chic Fashion At The Jewel Box Part II + Great Dining Experience!

The weather is turning cooler in Singapore with heavy rain and showers happening much more frequently in recent months. Due to the colder weather, we have brought in many pullovers/long sleeve tops and vests to Lace And Buttons for customers who wanted more variety for apparels suitable for the Fall/Winter season. I am very much in love with these designs as they not only keep me warm (especially in air-conditioned locations on a rainy day), I also find them really fashionable, cute as well as versatile!

We were really fortunate to have escaped the rainy weather on the day we visited The Jewel Box at Mount Faber for an outdoor photoshoot featuring one of my favorite pullover set:

Simply adore this pullover and skirt set as the look is simple yet so elegant and chic! Great set for accessorizing too be it a sophisticated pearl necklace for that added touch of class or a bold statement piece to reflect an adventurous streak in your personal style.

And here comes the favorite part of the day....lunch at Spuds And Aprons Restaurant at The Jewel Box!

The lunch menu consisted mainly of local delights such as Laksa and Hokkien Noodles. The price is quite reasonable (approximately $10 per dish) considering that the serving is quite big and the alfresco ambiance of the restaurant is just perfect! The food is tasty too so I would definitely recommend this place for a great dining experience.

On a separate occasion, we had visited Spuds And Aprons for dinner as well:

Barbecued Baby Pork Ribs And Fries

Chocolate Cake

Mango, All Puffed Up

Overall, the food tasted pretty good with very rich and strong flavors. Definitely sinful but who doesn't like to indulge every once in a while! Although the food is rather delicious, what really draws us to Spuds And Aprons is the whole dining experience complete with the gorgeous views which I have mentioned in my earlier post!

So if you are looking for a romantic dining venue or just a suitable location to chill out over some wine and dessert, this restaurant is definitely a place that should be considered!
